The Path Twists Again

Just when you think you are on the right road, the destination in sight, again with the bloody roadworks, the detour, the path twists again.

The last week has been a reality check for me. I had started to live the dream rather than take the steps towards achieving the dream. Someone wise once said it's not about the destination, it's the journey. Or something along those lines.

I have withdrawn from my equine course. The childcare costs were going to be along the lines of $300 a week. The end dream is my own stud farm so it makes more sense to be saving that money towards the dangling carrot of land rather than swanning around at a course where, to be fair, I would have a shit load of fun riding etc but a lot of the content was pretty damn basic. Could pick it up volunteering at a local stud even ........

Where does this leave me?

Firstly, huge falling out with Dad, inevitable, so currently looking for another rental to tide us over until we get together the required deposit, which incidentally is nearly 50% of the purchase price of land. Yup, you need $100,000 deposit to buy a $200,000 10 acre block these days. For fucks sake!!!!!

Options are being tossed around so we won't give up hope.

House and land packages are an option but seems like a pain in the anus to have to pay some other wanker to build us a house when Blair is a qualified builder......

What the hell have you all been up to??

Well that sucks... sure, it's not the be all and end all to your final destination of a stud, but you were enjoying it none the less.

Are ya shitting me??!! Half down for land?! Is that the same everywhere? Or just in NZ?

I can see our life long dream disapearing into the sunset with every dollar we spend on rent... the only way now of us ever owning a home, is if we win lotto. *fingers crossed...* and all that shiz.

Half the purchase cost as a deposit? Hell who are you dealing with? I didn't think it was that much.
sure isn't to buy a house.
Shaking me head... you will eventually get to the end of the journey I hope!
We have to have our dreams... and live for them to be realised eh.
Mine dream is a house at the beach... that I can call MY OWN and not "family's".

Bugger about having to move again so soon, but I think you are right not to be wasting money on something that you are long term not going to get anything out of.

You certainly have more than your fair share of obstacles.

I assume the 50% deposit is because it is classified as farm finance?

I am sure things will work out for you but it must be so frustrating, 2 steps forward & 1 step back.

Is the Dad situation repairable or is it just going to happen again & again?

Good luck & big hugs.

50% deposit, SHIT! Bugger about the course but I think you are right not to be wasting money on something that you are long term not going to get anything out of plus the cost of childcare $1200 a month. Hope everything works out. Thinking of you babe x

Goodness you'll have the moving thing down pat soon... it must be hard because you'd just get settled...
hold onto that dream - Don and I dreamt all our lives of moving out of town...it wasn't till 6 years ago we achieved this - only 5kms out because of his medical needs...he only got 3 years before they killed him, but I used to love to watch him laying back in his chair under the big blue sky and just looking about...a favourite image...you'll get there and it will be wonderful

Bugger that things have taken a different path but hey things happen when they are meant to and no matter how hard that may seem sometimes, we just have to wait and things will fall into place at the right time when they are meant to.... well thats my belief anyway lol...
