Cleanly Shaven

Get your minds out of the gutter people!!

I have decided to get my head out of my own arse and do something for others.

On April 13th I will shave my hair bald to help raise funds for the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation of NZ.

Go here: Shave for a Cure

and sponsor me to shave me head. All funds go towards research, patient support etc and this is a well worthwhile cause.

Or you can go to www.shaveforacure.co.nz and search my name (Julie Nathan) so you can sponsor me (that's if you haven't figured out how to click on the link above).

When I was in my second year of school I had a wee boyfriend Matthew and he got leukaemia and died and this is my way of saying "I still remember you!".

So sponsor away, let your friends know and even advertise my plight on your blog, together we can all hopefully raise some good money for some good people.

Thanks in advance for you support.

Awesome... donation made!! I was thinking just the other day about doing this myself.... one day... just not yet! My hair is just getting to a length where I'm liking it and with a bellydance show coming up, well, I'm not sure about how a baldy belly dancer will go down with the crowd. You are braver than I!!

I am so proud of you, well done for doing it Jules. I always put money in for the teacher at school who does the shave, each of my kids puts in a 2 dollar coin. Then theres the bracelets we get from work on the Leuky ward, that always counts too..anything to raise money is a wonderful thing.
re the horse riding thing. When we went to a place called Victor Harbor here in South Australia, there were a few horse ride day trips you can do. I will take my Sarah on one next year there, just the 2 of us when I know she will be able to handle it for the 4 hours or so of the ride. Lunch included and you egt to ride along the beach and stuff :)

Wow, you're brave. I would rather chop off my hand than shave my head. I'm vain that way.

Meh, it's just hair.

We are all holding our breath right now waiting for the second lot of results of my sister in law's (scott's brothers wife) results after they took out her lymph glands on Monday. It's a case of whether she's in time for Chemo or not.

She cried when she said she might lose her hair and Scott's mum, sister and myself said, without hesitation, that we'd all shave our heads to support her when she goes through it.

I've never felt like that before. Never felt so strongly to want to shave my head, for anyone, but I would for her.

Well done Jules - that's a great gesture.

Well done Jules. We had (dunno if they still have it) the same kinda fundraising drive once a year in S'africa, sponsored by a major bank. You could either dye your hair green or have your head shaved.

Just made a donation hon. I'll do a plug on my blog as well :-)

You are amazing!

I'm sorry to say I can't contribute. Major recession here and I think we are on the verge of a depression. (as a country)

I wish you the best of luck!
